Thirty-eight acrobats in silver jumpsuits hang thirty metres above Prague. 25,000
spectators on the ground watch them with bated breath. A moment of tension,
goosebumps all over the body slowly turn into euphoria, amazement and awe turn into thunderous applause. In that moment, the performers and the audience become one entity, they perceive a common unrepeatable experience, there are no differences between people, they are all part of something greater that surpasses them.
Artists from different parts of Europe met in the Czech Republic and joined forces to create something unique. They are all acrobats; their work is in the circus and the circus is their lifestyle.
The Tribute to Contemporary Circus / Aquanauts project brought together the best acrobats from the Czech Republic, Sweden, Slovakia and Ukraine, who joined together for 10 days to create an incredible show. There were no language barriers or borders, what brought them together was their love for circus.
In the documentary, representatives of Europe's top contemporary circus troupes, as well as the organisers of the Letní Letná festival, which brought them all together in one place, talk about circus art and the nomadic lifestyle. People with circus in their hearts.
