Ariadna Vendelová: All My Skirts
All My Skirts is an original solo aerial dance/new circus production by Ariadna Vendelová (SK) and Fred Deb´ (FR).
The experimental aerial dance performance All My Skirts is unique in that it uses a single piece of a 70 meter long aerial fabric to create an architecture of life, where female body searches for balance, negotiating time and space, allowing for emergence of multiplicity of images and interpretations.
After the creation process at three international residencies, the show premiered in December 2019 in Tabačka Kulturfabrik (Košice, Slovakia), followed by two presentations, but could not tour during 2020 due to the onset of the pandemic.
"All My Skirts is a negotiation of balance in time and space, in and beyond the scope of life of a human body and soul. The female body which remembers and forgets, body which experiences, dreams and awakes after hundreds of days heavy in the burden of personal identities. The years which run by fast, and days that last forever. Paradoxes of our language, the lives of mothers, unheard voices of women, unseen bodies. Compromises we make to stay alive. The ultimate self-realization, ancestral memories, rituals of the present. What has been left of me? ”
Eva Stará: Mass
In the MASS project, we focus on the research of the theme of self-consciousness and self-determination.
We analyze the means and methods that we as humans use to help build our own reality and identity in the context of today’s society.
What do we consider to be important and what defines our existence and function in society nowadays? How do we analyze and judge ourselves? What things help us feel genuinely true to ourselves without just filling in the expectations of others?
We all are part of a mass, we all are affected by the images around us and for all our futile attempts and struggle to be original, we all are becoming part of a unified mass consisting of all other beings.
